Tour de Palm Springs

Every year in the country of France, there is a little bicycle event that rolls thru the roads, streets, and mountains called the Tour de France. In the California desert each year about 100 miles east of Los Angeles in a little city sometimes known as the playground of the stars, there is also a bicycle event that brings together hundreds of two wheel enthusiasts who seek some competition as well as some good ole’ fashion exercise.

Called the Tour de Palm Springs, this event is the brainchild of biking enthusiast Tim Esser who was hit with an idea back in January of 1998 that the desert and it’s variety of terrains would be a perfect place to hold an annual bike event right in the heart of Palm Springs.

On top of being a bike event that throws all competitors into one event, the Tour de Palm Springs provides a 5, 10, 25, 56, and 102 mile ride thru the city, all designed to give the novice and the professional a full and adequate experience.

If you are a Veteran You May Have Been Exposed to Cancer Causing Elements

More people die of lung cancer in the United States than die of colon, prostate, breast, and kidney cancers combined. What surprises many people is that lung cancer is not necessarily caused by smoking. Many at risk groups and nonsmokers are also likely to develop the disease.

Some of the people who are the most at risk are United States veterans who served in the military between the Second World War and the Persian Gulf War. Recent studies indicate that this group has a 25% to 75% greater probability of developing lung cancer than people who didn’t serve in the military during that time frame.

There’s a very simple reason why this is true. Many of the people who risked their lives while serving in the U.S. military were exposed to Agent Orange, asbestos, DU (depleted uranium), as well as other radioactive materials during their tenure in the military.

Military Rules for Non-Military Personnel

Here are a few of the areas where we would like your assistance:
(1) The next time you see an adult talking (or wearing a hat) during
the playing of the National Anthem—kick their ass.

(2) When you witness, firsthand, someone burning the American Flag in protest—kick their ass.

(3) Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the
highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing
otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these veterans
fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a disabled veteran kicks their ass.

(4) (GUYS) If you were never in the military uniform , DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDUs), telling others that you used to be “Special Forces,” and collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay when you were seven years old. Now, it will only make you look stupid and get your ass kicked.
