thought that I had a nice listing of VA and Veterans Assistance sites, but I've never seen such a comprehensive list as this one. Copy it and file it in your VA or Veterans file. Then, pass it on to all the veterans you know.


Below are web-sites that provide information on Veterans benefits and how to file / ask for them. Accordingly, there are many sites that explain how to obtain books, military / medical records, information and how to appeal a denied claim with the VA. Please pass this information on to every Veteran you know. Nearly 100% of this information is free and available for all veterans, the only catch is: you have to ask for it, because they won't tell you about a specific benefit unless you ask for it. You need to know what questions to ask so the right doors open for you -- and then be ready to have an advocate who is willing to work with and for you, stay in the process, and press for your rights and your best interests.


I recommend that every Veteran who is contemplating filing for disability (or already has been awarded some disability) should read the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR); Title 38: Pensions, Bonuses, and Veterans' Relief. It is a bit of a read because it was written by Lawyers, but it is the Law that they VA is governed by and is a wealth of information related to benefits and, most importantly, it gives you the words that they VA needs to hear to relate to a disability or impairment. this CFR can be found at (http://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/cfr.php?title=38&type=chapter&value=1). I recommend that you print and read chapters 3 Adjudication and 4 Schedule for rating disabilities Many of the other chapters are listed below........
